"Debate is the Heart of Liberty"
INLAND EMPIRE
DEBATING SOCIETY
At its Sunday, May 20, 2012, 4:00 p.m. meeting, The Inland Debating Society will have the
opportunity to hear from three Citrus Valley High School students who will be giving the group a presentation on educational
reform.
The meeting will be held at the Denny's Restaurant in Redlands, California off the no. 10 freeway 1180 Alabama
Avenue. Citrus Valley High
School Teacher Cherie Smith will accompany her students to their presentation. After the presentation,
members of the Inland Empire Debating Society will judge the students’ presentation and present a $500 check to the
Citrus Valley High School speech and debate program.
Citrus
Valley High School located in Redlands is well known as having one of the most outstanding speech and debate programs in the
area. This presentation is anticipated to be the beginning of an exchange program between the Inland Empire
Debating Society and Citrus Valley High School.
Our debate topic this month is:
Resolved: the US should cease military operations in Afghanistan.
